Rivercrest Education Foundation

The Rivercrest Education Foundation, Inc.

September 23, 2009

The Rivercrest  Education Foundation, Inc. Is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose  is to provide financial aid in the form of scholarships to graduating seniors of Rivercrest High School. The Foundation is made up of trustees and officers from the Talco and Bogata area who are interested in the youth of our school district. Our main fund-raiser is our annual benefit banquet, scheduled in the spring at the Rivercrest High School Gymnasium. The event will include a catered meal, entertainment, and silent auction. Tickets will cost $25.00 each and may be purchased from any trustee or officer. We are currently seeking auction items from local businesses and individuals. These donations are tax-deductible and proper acknowledgement will be given. Our by-laws and articles of incorporation are on file with our secretary .

This will be our 9th year to host our benefit banquet and to date we have disbursed over $150,000.00 in scholarships to seniors here at Rivercrest High School. This money is obtained through ticket sales, raffles, and silent auction items alone. Anything your business could contribute toward our silent auction would be greatly appreciated. We also accept donations made in memory or honor of loved ones. We are accepting endowments in the amount of $5,000.00  with the interest generated from that to be given as scholarships in that name.

The Rivercrest Education Foundation also funds the Dual-Credit Program  for juniors and seniors who wish to get a head-start on their college education by enrolling in college level courses while still in high school. The Foundation helps pay the cost of tuition for these students  to enable them to have this opportunity. We currently set aside funds each year for this program.

Many school districts in the surrounding area have established organizations such as this to help defray the cost of college for their graduates. It is our goal to help provide educational opportunities for our young people here at Rivercrest High School. Your support will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to aid in our cause and need further information, please contact me at (903)632-5150 . Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Debbie Hare,

Secretary
